Day 4 - delayed delivery

While we thought we would be taking the train into Chicago today, that's not what happened. Last night we were both SO wiped out and the thought of another packed day didn't sound at all appealing. So we turned off the alarm and decided to have a leisurely morning. It was GREAT!!

The weather was so cool, fresh, non-humid and beautiful this morning. The birds were singing. The grass was growing. The flowers were blooming. The trees were standing tall.

What did we do today you may be wondering. Besides noticing all of the above, we hung out with Irum, Azeem and Humza. Irum and Azeem tried to figure out how to get this blog to do what I want it to, to no avail. We just changed a few things around which will hopefully make it easier to read.

Then Malcolm and I headed out on a tour of his old haunts. We went by some of the buildings where he worked, the first house he and Nancy bought, the second house they bought as their 5 children were growing (both of these are in Schaumburg, IL). Then we went to visit his home in Barrington, IL, now owned by his son, Aaron and family, Julie, Camden and and Vayda. You Arizonans wouldn't believe the lush, green, thriving beauty of this place. It was gorgeous. The flowers, the fountains, the trees, the LAKE in the middle of the condo development!!! What??? Yes, there is a LAKE in the middle of the development. And what keeps the lake full and the place so beautiful? Tons of rain and snow. We were in no less than 3 major downpours today, with sprinkling and drizzling in between, along with clear blue skies.
The BIG EVENT was having dinner with most of the Chicago family at Malcolm's "favorite resturant in the whole entire world," Bob Chinn's Crabhouse. Please see the pictures. We had a really good time with everyone and the food was delicious.
The other Chicago family wasn't able to make it to the dinner because they were camping near Peoria, IL near where the tornado touched down. They had driven over to the town to see what happened and weren't able to make it back in time to meet up with us. We missed them.

Go Blackhawks!!
